Biggest Loser Challenge at F.E. Madill

Apr 11

Mustangs are powering down this week as we compete in the Biggest Loser Challenge!  Students and staff hope to crush LDSS by reducing our electricity consumption.

Don’t get caught Red handed, BE GREEN!  The Green Police will be patrolling the halls all week handing out tickets to staff and students alike for their crimes against the environment.

Some infractions include:
·    Shutting natural light while using classroom lights
·    Leaving computers on
·    Leaving doors/windows open while heat is on
·    Disobeying daily events

Some important dates to remember:

Monday – No electronic lesson plan day.  On this day we would greatly appreciate if all teachers would refrain from using smart boards, overhead projectors, computers and televisions.
Tuesday- Computer free day.  The labs will be closed for this day, and only a few computers will be left on in the library for use.  Any teachers who desperately need computers on this day can speak to Ms. Green or Mrs. Sawchuck.
Wednesday- Get Outside and Clean-up!  We hope that teachers will take their classes outside to clean up the school property and community.  Don’t forget to turn the lights off when you leave!
Thursday- Homeroom Challenge!  Throughout the week homeroom classroom are encouraged to come up with the best energy saving ideas that can be put into use for the rest of the year.  There will be a limit of 3 ideas per class and the winning class will win an ice cream party!
Friday- Sweater day AND Tech Dept BBQ!! All heat to the school will be turned right off.  It is recommended that students and staff bring a sweater because although it is spring it might still be a little chilly.
