2009 National Christmas Campaign

Last Thursday afternoon was the official nationwide launch of the 2009 National Christmas Campaign aimed at raising money to combat the spread of poverty during the Christmas season and throughout the year. The iconic Salvation Army kettles are manned by hundreds of bell-ringers at malls grocery stores, and other public venues, who will try to top last year’s total of $16 million raised through kettle donations.

Last Thursday afternoon, the “Madill Carolers” (instrument sextet) performed for the Wingham Kickoff ceremony.  The group was well-received and invited us to stay for cake and hot chocolate afterwards!  It was a great performing experience and the Madill Music Department is always happy to be part of such a worthwhile cause!  Well done Carolers!
