Paul Wellhauser owns Nharo, a fair trade store on the Danforth in Toronto. Paul brings carvings and jewelry back from African countries, supporting the Sans, Tuareg, and Himba indigenous people from countries like Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mali, Congo, Zambia. Money made will help support Besa coming to Canada and help to provide school uniforms and opportunities to San people to graduate high school.
During lunch, there will be a table set up in the main hall with some Fair Trade items for sale. Paul Wellhauser will be there and will be happy to answer questions about who made the items and how the money will benefit the communities. Then, in Period 3, Besa Abuse will talk about his life as an indigenous San Bushmen of southern Africa. He is from a small village outside Gobabis in Namibia, and is from the Ju/hoansi San language group. Besa also has a few photos on his Facebook page, under Besa Bushie Abusema.
