Last year, the grade 12 university English class created short documentary films. The International Plowing Match that was held last week in Walton ran a Mobile Documentary Contest. Students were invited to enter their documentary films on the topic of “From the Soils of Ontario. In addition to school projects, students could submit work to the contest that they had done on their own.
A number of groups decided to do just that. And some of our students won!
Kaitlynn Dowler and Becca Franken placed 2nd and received $600.
Sydney Wightman, Robin Montgomery and Nicole Harding placed third and received $250.
Hannah-Joy Stoltz and Sadie Scott placed fourth and received $100.
They were presented with their awards this past Saturday, September 23 on the Main Stage at the IPM. Unfortunately some students were not able to attend to receive their awards. However, Robin Montgomery, Nicole Harding and Sydney Wightman represent Madill well and received their prizes. Congratulations.
