F.E. Madill students had the opportunity to attend an Indigenous writers workshop at the school. Part of the Alice Munro Festival of the Short Story, this workshop includes live readings from the works of Canadian First Nations authors and playwrights, followed by a meal of authentic aboriginal cuisine, and finally a Q&A session with the authors:
Lee Maracle- A Canadian First Nations Coast Salish poet and author. She speaks out as a critic of the treatment of indigenous people by the Canadian people and she particularly highlights the issues relating to indigenous women.
