OFSAA Track and Field
Jun 08
8 Madill athletes attended the Track and Field OFSAA competition June 2-4 in Sudbury. There were outstanding results at the meet. Julie-Anne Staehli set a new school record in the 1500 m steeplechase and won a silver medal in the event in a time of 5:09.71. Brianna Bird set a new school record in the Midget Girls 1500m and won a bronze medal in a time of 4:45.69. Alex Peters set a new school record in the Midget Boys 100m and finished 4th with a time of 11.35 seconds. Luke Dailleboust missed the podium by the narrowest of margins in the Jr. Boys sprint hurdles. Although Luke’s toe and head crossed the line first, another competitors torso edged him out by a fraction of a second and Luke finished 4th. Cole Pellett, at his 5th consecutive Track and Field OFSAA, competed well and earned a 4th in Sr. Boys long jump and a 6th in the triple jump. Brayden Pellett, Mike Ballagh, and Ben Dailleboust also competed well and all of Madill can be proud of what these athletes accomplished this year.
