May 30
The Madill Track and Field team was incredibly successful at WOSSAA. There are more than 50 schools in the WOSSAA area and schools of all sizes compete against each other in Track and Field. Madill finished in the top 5 in all six of the divisions. The Junior Boys and Senior Boys won their Championships. For the third consecutive year the Overall Boys Team won the WOSSAA Championship. The Overall Girls Team placed second and the Overall Madill Team earned more points than any other school in WOSSAA. Five school records were broken at the meet. New school record holders include: Brianna Bird (Midget Girls 1500m and 3000m), Julie-Anne Staehli (Senior Girls 400m Hurdles), Alex Peters (Open Boys 4 x 400m Relay), Cole Pellett (Senior Boys 4x100m Relay), and Brayden Pellett, Mike Ballagh and Ben Dailleboust (Senior Boys 4x100m Relay and Open Boys 4x400m Relay). 31 Madill athletes had at least one top six finish and qualified to advance to the OFSAA West Regional Qualifying Meet May 27th and 28th at London.
