Nordic Team at WOSSAA

Yesterday, the Madill Nordic Ski team travelled to Windy Hill Farms near Embro to race in the WOSSAA competition.
Jamie Pollard had an excellent race, capturing 1st place in the novice boys category
Kelsey Morgan and Michelle Studhalter finished 5th and 6th in a tough Jr. girls race
The Yungbluts swept the podium in the Sr. girl’s race, with Erin Yungblut taking 1st, Emily Yungblut with a strong 2nd place finish, and Madeline Yungblut capturing 3rd place. Julie-Anne Staehli also had an excellent race, finishing very strong in 6th place.
The girls blew away the competition in the relay race, earning a gold medal, and winning the overall Sr. girls title.
The Sr. boys had some fierce competition, but also did very well, with Ron Groen dominating the race, winning gold, Matt Underwood finishing in 10th place, and Matt Nivins following close behind, finishing in 11th. The Sr. boys were also successful in the relay race, winning a bronze medal.
The ski team also came away with top place in the Senior Boys & Girls combined title.
Congratulations to the whole team on a very successful and exciting season, and special mention to Kelsey Morgan, Michelle Studhalter, Madeline Yungblut, Erin Yungblut, Emily Yungblut, Julie-Anne Staehli, Ron Groen, Matt Nivins, Ben Underwood, and Matt Underwood who qualified to compete at the OFSAA competition which will be held in Midland in late February.
